Our Story

A little about us

    Where it began

    We met at Santa Clara University and fell for each other almost immediately.

Getting to the island

Roche Harbor sits on the northern tip of San Juan Island. Getting there is part of the adventure — here's how.

  • Drive + ferry

    Great if you want the flexibility of a car on the island. It’s about 90 minutes from Seattle to the Anacortes terminal, then a ferry to Friday Harbor and a 20-minute drive to Roche Harbor. Vehicle reservations open in stages starting in early 2027 (with more released two weeks and two days before sailing) and sell out fast — book early with Washington State Ferries, and please carpool where possible.

  • By seaplane

    The most scenic route: Kenmore Air flies from the Seattle area directly into Roche Harbor in about 50–60 minutes. Especially convenient if you’re staying at the resort, where most events, restaurants, and activities are walkable.

Good to know

When should I RSVP by?

Please let us know by June 1, 2027 so we can finalize details with the resort.

What should I wear?

Elevated casual for Friday welcome drinks, cocktail attire for Saturday’s rehearsal dinner on Shipwreck Beach, and formal attire for the wedding on Sunday. The ceremony is outdoors in the gardens, so bring a layer for the evening.

Can I bring my kids?

We love your little ones, but we’re kindly requesting that the wedding weekend events be adults only. If you’re traveling with children, we’re happy to help coordinate a nanny at the hotel — just text Kai at (408) 533-5551.

Where should I stay?

We have a room block at Roche Harbor Resort (call 360-378-9820 and reference group code 07252027). Lakedale Resort and Snug Harbor Resort are lovely nearby alternatives.

Do I need a car on the island?

If you stay at Roche Harbor Resort, most events, restaurants, and activities are within walking distance. If you stay elsewhere on the island, a car will be helpful.

How far ahead should I book the ferry?

As early as possible. Vehicle reservations open in stages starting at the beginning of 2027, and summer sailings sell out quickly.
